Shortage of shipments of 28nm processors from TSMC pushed Qualcomm to partially relocate its orders to the facilities of United Microelectronics Corp. (UMC), Samsung Electronics and GlobalFoundries.
In 2021, TSMC will continue to be the provider of 28nm photos potato chips to Sea Islands, while GlobalFoundries will concentrate on the production of Kaveri APUs. Having said that, TSMC is anticipated to produce accelerated energy-efficient processors Kabini and Temash, which will change the Brazos platform in the next 2021.
